It's -25.9 on my digital thermometer plus the wind chill would make it about -36. If I hear you complain how hot it is down there one more time I think I might come down there and punch you. Remember I'm the one who likes the heat, Ron is happy with -36 (he just gets annoyed with me when he has to warm up my feet).
I'm a Canadian farm boy working with a group of Bolivian ex-street kids. I've been here eight years and living in this house with them for almost six. When I first arrived here, I worked at a home for guys coming off the streets. After being there for a couple of years, I saw the need for some sort of home where the guys could live as they continued their studies after high school. I openned this home and surprisingly (to me anyhow) became dad to a number of young guys.
The goal is to help them transition to life on their own while at the same time helping them to gain a university education.
If you want more information on what that looks like, feel free to contact us.
I hope this blog challenges you, entertains you and gives you a little bit more of an idea of what's happening in this corner of South America.

Don't tell them that some of the time they are RIGHT. It's snowing as I type this. Should I send you some photos of our "for real" Canadian home? LOL

Mel...it's 2:48 AM and my phone tells me it's still 28 C outside.
Should I give you my list of things I need now or later (for when you come down here to punch me)? =)
We're looking more and more like that down here in Minnesota, actually... the storm system finally blew through, but we prolly got 20 inches of snow!
